Crescent City Elks Lodge 1689 was burglarized Saturday, the second time in one week.

Lodge officer Randy Buttcher said the building at 359 H St. was broken into Oct. 22, although nothing was taken.

Then, at about 7 a.m. four days later, Buttcher said, someone broke through the front glass door and three interior doors, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the bar area.

“Despite our increased security efforts, they did what they did on Saturday,” Buttcher said.

The investigation is ongoing.
