On Feb. 27, the Crescent City Police Department concluded a collaborative investigation with the Home Depot Asset Protection Team. According to a press release from the Crescent City Police Department, two arrests were made at the Crescent City Home Depot Store, located at 520 U.S. Highway 101 North.

Officer Ethan Miller and Chief Richard Griffin arrested one store employee and a local contractor on suspicion of burglary, grand theft and conspiracy. According to Crescent City police, the total amount of the investigation accounts for almost 20% of the total theft loss for the Home Depot Store in Crescent City for a one-year period.

The Crescent City Police Department will not be releasing the names of the subjects involved as this is an ongoing investigation and is being forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review.

This was a first step in a collaborative effort to reduce theft of merchandise from the Crescent City Home Depot. The Crescent City Police Department looks forward to working with the Asset Protection Team from Home Depot in the future to investigate any further thefts from the store when evidence is available.
