Peter and Kelly Chen, owners of the Oriental Food Market in Crescent City, enjoyed welcoming guests on Jan. 25 to their celebration of the Chinese New Year and turning to daughter Coco to translate for them in English.

The event’s festivities included Maxwell Yang of Crescent City, who played the only song he knows on a traditional bamboo flute.

While guests lined up for a buffet of Chinese cuisine, Sue Joseph, Helen Everts and Chad Hester prepared handmade pot stickers.

Carol Davis signed a Happy New Year card on the market’s wall.
