Bonnie Jane Clawson

Bonnie Jane Clawson was born May 22, 1943, in Blueberry Mountain, Alberta, Canada. Bonnie passed away peacefully while being attended by family on September 12, 2020 in Crescent City, California. She has resided in the United States since May 1950, along with her parents and siblings.

Bonnie received her Cosmetology license and began her lifelong career as a Beauty Operator/Hairstylist and worked in a variety of beauty shops is Southern Oregon and California for many years. She opened her own local beauty salon, Clip n Curl in Crescent City. Bonnie was dedicated to her customers. She had a very lengthy business relationship with many. She maintained a small weekly clientele up until COVID regulations made it mandatory to discontinue, as well as personal health reasons.

Bonnie was an avid line dancer in her younger days, taking classes and performing at local events. For many years she had enjoyed weekly visits to play board games with local family members. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was a dedicated and faithful usher/greeter.

She was preceded in death by her parents James Howard and Lavonne Rogers, brother Larry Howard, sister Marylou Beard, brother in laws Bill R. Beard and Neil Chaffee. Nephews are Jim and Ross Chaffee and niece Debbie Cromwell.

Surviving her is son Gary Clawson, Sr., grandson Gary Clawson, Jr., constant companion David Lindsay, sister Lucille Chaffee, brother Glen Howard and spouse Deanna, sister in law Sharon Howard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her straight-forward, no-filter personality will be missed.

Graveside Services will be held Friday September 18, 2020, 1:00 pm at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery, Crescent City, California.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel.
