Laune Aretta Caldwell

Laune Aretta Caldwell 4/17/1938, 83 years of age from Crescent City passed away on February 6, 2022 from natural causes. Laune was predeceased by her mother Julia Hepburn, brother Garry Lee Hepburn and sister Jackie Hepburn. She is survived by her sister Jessie Sherman and brother Harold Hepburn and four children, Jack, Nick, Danny, and Dawn, and her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends. Laune worked at the West Coast Fisheries for many years, and Seaside Hospital 15 years where she enjoyed helping and meeting new patients. One of her closest friends and co-worker at the hospital was Peggy Capshaw. She also worked at the Mary Peacock School as an instructional assistant working with the severely handicapped students and retired in 2002 to spend quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies were walking on the beach, visiting the park, going to the swimming pool, attending church at the local Four Square, going to the movies and camping on the Smith River. She never missed an episode of Dark Shadows in the 60’s and 70’s and watched every episode of Days of Our Lives until her passing, she loved watching romantic movies and westerns especially Gunsmoke, and also was an avid reader of romantic novels like Harlequin Romance. Laune loved to cook and bake homemade bread and cinnamon rolls for anyone that had time to sit down and eat especially at Thanks giving and Christmas time. She had a wonderfully sweet personality and loved to laugh and smile. “Laune” a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Aunt and Friend will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
