On July 30th, a dear friend, Laurie Kramer, passed away. She was 62. Born Laurie Ann Schwimmer, she grew up in West Hempstead, New York, where she met her husband Mark. Later, they adopted their son, John.
She loved life and was the life of the party. Her laughter and joy when she was with friends will be very much missed. Laurie was a kindergarten and elementary school teacher. She was also a private tutor. Later, the family moved to Florida, then to Crescent City, California.
Many knew Laurie from Christ Messiah Messianic Fellowship, where she, Mark, and John attended. It was while living in Florida, they had all embraced Christianity. After they moved to Crescent City, they sought out a Messianic fellowship. Being Jewish, it was important to Laurie that they attend a church that would incorporate and appreciate the Jewish roots of Christianity.
Laurie loved the feasts and celebrations that was part of her Jewish culture. Passover was one of her favorites. She loved being part of the church fellowship. She considered them family, and they her. Laurie was a generous person when it came to her friends. She showed her appreciation, as family was very important to her. Laurie is not here anymore, but she is with her Messiah, whom she loved.
For now, she is very much missed, but one day, we will be reunited. “Farewell, Laurie, until we fellowship again. We look forward to hearing the laughter and excitement that was uniquely yours.”
In lieu of flowers, donations to the cancer research of your choice would be appreciated.
There will be a graveside service, August 10th on Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. at the IOOF Memorial Cemetery, Crescent City, CA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wier’s Mortuary Chapel.
