Lyndol Wayne Mitchell, of Crescent City, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2020, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born on June 6th, 1937 in Emory, Texas, to William and Sybil Mitchell. He was a 66-year resident of Del Norte County where he raised his three children with the love of his life Marilyn.
Lyndol was a very active member of this community. Belonging to many organizations such as Tax Payers League, Chamber of Commerce, Board of Realtors, and many more. He was in real estate for 47 years but was also an owner of a Fishing Vessel named Miss Mandy and the House of Rowland’s Restaurant.
Lyndol was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed fly fishing and tying his own flies.
He was the oldest of nine children, so he loved his large family. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn, mother, Sybil, father, Bill, Brothers, Paul, Gene, and Jerry.
He is survived by his son Randy (Terri), daughters Tammy, Terri (Bill). Siblings, Peggy Mitchell, Brenda Kirkpatrick (Pat), Tereisa Sanders (Charlie), Wanda Lopez (Laird), Danny Mitchell (Lynn). Grandchildren, Sara (Daniel), Justin, Tyler (Rebecca), Landon, Joseph (Ebony), Kaitlyn and Erin. Also, greatgrandchildren Mitchel, Austin, Keegan, Jocelyn, Kayden, Mikaela, Nora, Alder, Benjamin, Nolan, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14th, at 1:00 p.m. at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel followed by graveside services at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. There will be a celebration of life held at Toreros (House of Rowland’s) following the graveside service. All are welcomed to attend.
