Letter: Cold hearted

I regularly go out to the cemetery to visit my husband, groom his plot and check on it. I was very upset to see that someone had stolen a white metal, baroque cross, I had placed behind the center of his headstone. 

I know the wind did not blow it away. It was secured with four garden staples, which were pounded into the ground. Many times, I have found the imitation roses I put there pulled out of their containers, laying beside them. The last time I was there, all the flowers were completely gone. These flowers were not blown away either by the wind. They were secured in a way that they would have had to have been pulled on. 

What kind of cold-hearted person would do such a thing? For those of us who are suffering from the death of our loved one, something like this only compounds it. It would be nice if there was some kind of surveillance to try and catch those who are stealing from the dead without any concern for the one who placed flowers, etc. on their loved ones grave.
