It is unprecedented for a District Attorney to file charges against a Sheriff candidate over such a frivolous matter.
Waltz’s residence was good enough to be the Undersheriff, it was google enough to be appointed as Sheriff, but not good enough to run in the election?
It seems to me that the good people of Del Norte need to take a closer look at their District Attorney and see what her motives are, it appears they just did not want an “outsider” to be Sheriff.
A man with 30 years of experience in law enforcement, working in a Sheriff’s office and a District Attorney’s office, maybe they are worried about what he would notice or change.
