You made a serious error in your editorial about social change and governmental impacts on Del Norte. Your editorial begins claiming that President Eisenhower warned about “A new social/industrial complex”. That is false. What he really said on January 17, 1961, in this farewell address, warned against the establishment of a “military-industrial complex.”
With a false premise it was hard to accept anything that followed.

Actually, Dr. Sommer, the editorial was attempting to draw similarities between Eisenhower’s Military-Industrial Complex, and what may well become Governor Newsom’s Social-Industrial complex, where well-connected big business and big government enjoy all the taxpayer money they can get their hands on. It won’t be small owner-operator business that design, build, manage and own these future homeless villages.
