Dear Editor: “Your word is your bond.” Most honorable people keep their word, honor their promises, and are loyal to their allies and friends.

Donald Trump has abandoned the Kurds that have fought with U.S. forces to crush ISIS. They lost over 11,000 of their loved ones, while U.S. forces lost just a handful.

Kurdish forces guard the jails that house thousands of ISIS terrorists, and the camps that house their families.

Well, Trump in his “ unmatched wisdom” (his own words), has unilaterally abandoned our allies, the Kurds, that have been U.S. brothers in arms for the last five years. Trump got a call from Turkey’s leader and the next day ordered all American troops to leave.

When Trump was asked if he was worried about the ISIS prisoners flooding the world with their hateful ideology, he replied, “Well, they will go back to Europe where they came from.” I guess he really doesn’t like our allies in Europe, either!

No one will trust America’s word unless the troops return to help the Kurds the way they helped us. The Kurds can’t wait another week or another day! The women, children and old people are dying now!

Please call your representative to beg them to give aide to the Kurds despite what Trump wants.
