Del Norte County Sheriff Erik Apperson is hosting several safety classes to meet the requirements of obtaining or renewing a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
Upon completion of the course you will be safer and more proficient with your concealed weapon. You will also be better informed with current related laws.
These courses will be free of charge.
You must have completed your application/renewal for a concealed weapons permit to the Del Norte Sheriff’s Office and have submitted that application to be eligible for the course. Application fees are approximately $158 and the renewal fees are approximately $77. The applications can be found online at http://www.co.del-norte.ca.us/departments/sheriff-department.
The first block of instruction will be inside a classroom environment and there will be no live shooting. This portion will take two hours and class sizes are limited to six people.
Block One course dates are at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 6-8, and 27-29 at the DNSO headquarters, at 650 5th Street.
Block Two will be a two-hour course at a range with live fire and will be scheduled upon completion of Block One.
