Excerpts from the call logs of the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department:

Tuesday, May 5:

At 2:06 a.m., a resident in the 1100 block of Kellogg Road reported hearing loud noises from the neighbor’s property and believes someone may be trying to break in.

At 4:31 a.m., a resident in the 12500 block of Indian Road reported she believes a known male subject broke into her home.

At 4:39 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Condor Street reported he believes his dog chased off a prowler that was in the back yard.

At 4:41 a.m., a report of an intoxicated subject trying to get into a white car in a parking lot in the 400 block of M Street.

At 7:37 a.m., a female subject reported a motorist tried to hit her with his car in the Charm/Old Mill streets area. The male subject also called reporting the female subject was casing a house in the area.

At 8:23 a.m., a bike and backpack were found on U.S. Highway 101 at Knutsen street.

At 9:01 a.m., a resident in the 1900 block of Northcrest Drive reported finding a item unreported as stolen in a tenant’s backyard.

At 10:35 a.m., a subject reported he was assaulted in the 700 block of L Street.

At 12:04 p.m., a report from the 100 block of Walton Street of a pickup truck running into a semi truck.

At 12:08 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of Cummings Road reported some items were stolen off her back porch.

At 1:05 p.m., a subject causing a disturbance was removed from the 200 block of M Street.

At 2:33 p.m., an officer was flagged down by a citizen in the 300 block of Elk Valley Road to report someone was dismantling a truck in the woods.

At 3:20 p.m., a resident in the 2200 block of Harmony Lane reported someone broke into their trailer and stole a bike.

At 4:04 p.m., a male subject harassing customers was removed from a business in the 300 block of M Street.

At 4:57 p.m. a report of a male subject entering a business twice in the 400 block of M Street, opening bottles of alcohol and drinking from them.

At 4:59 p.m., a report of a subject that broke into a car and stole some items in the 700 block of 9th Street.

At 7:44 p.m., a request for extra patrols in the 9800 block of U.S. Highway 199 after two suspicious vehicles were spotted in the area the last couple of nights, prowling around the park.

At 7:53 p.m., a resident at Northcrest and Harding streets reported returning home to find signs of an attempted break in.

At 8:50 p.m., reports of a female subject walking in and out of traffic, hitting herself, in the Northcrest and Washington Boulevard area.

At 8:53 p.m., reports of three gunshots heard in the 200 block of Waldo Street.

At 9 p.m. a report of aerial fireworks going off in the 1700 block of Northcrest Drive.

At 9:08 p.m., a resident in the 800 block of Joshua Road reported a neighbor was shooting a gun toward his backyard.

At 9:13 p.m., a report of gunshots heard at a campground that is supposed to be closed in the 200 block of Nugget Lane in Gasquet.

At 10:52 p.m., a resident in the 1600 block of Jefferson Avenue reported someone broke into a trailer on the property.

Monday, May 4:

At 1:14 a.m., a resident in the 600 block of Spruce Street reported he believes a house he’s been watching has been broken into again.

At 2:21 a.m., someone reported spotting a male subject on the second floor of their building in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 101 when there should be no one there.

At 2:53 a.m., a report of a male subject starting a fire at a bus stop in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard.

At 8:01 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of Hoover Street reported it appears their neighbor’s house has been broken into.

At 8:49 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of 4th Street reported someone stole a bike and some tools.

At 11:37 p.m., a resident in the 99900 block of U.S. Highway 199 near mile post 11.9 reported hearing gunshots in the mountains in the hills above her house.

At 1:33 p.m., a report of a known female subject that walked out of a business in the 800 block of Washington Boulevard with several items in her purse.

At 2:50 p.m., a report of several items stolen from a vehicle in the 2400 block of Roy Avenue.

At 4:01 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of Macken Avenue reported that subject that his father hired to do some work assaulted him.

At 5:07 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Turnbull Lane reported someone stole items off her front porch.

At 6:25 p.m., a report of several tools stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 9800 block of U.S. Highway 199.

At 7:33 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Coolidge Avenue reported that a male subject was in the area hollering for help.

At 8:15 p.m., a report of a male subject going through mailboxes in the Pacific/Lela street areas.

At 11:25 p.m., a resident in the 500 block of Northbank Road reported what sounded like a gunshot, followed by a male subject yelling and what sounded like someone banging something on or near her property.

Sunday, May 3:

At 3:27 a.m., someone reported he is witnessing someone breaking into his shop in the 2500 block of Elk Valley Road.

At 3:34 a.m., a subject reported being shot at by several other subjects following him in the 400 block of M Street.

At 5:09 a.m. residents in the 2500 block of Elk Valley Road reported finding a bike on their property that does not belong to them.

At 9:11 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Olive Street reported just returning from a trip to find his home broken into.

At 1:23 p.m., a report of a female subject that fell off a horse with unknown injuries in the 6500 block of Lake Earl Drive in Fort Dick.

At 4:09 p.m., a resident in the 600 block of East Washington Boulevard reported that someone broke into one of his vans overnight.

At 4:36 p.m., a report of a reckless driver who drove up a curb and hit a sign at 5th and L streets.

At 4:53 p.m., a request received to remove a subject swinging a stick and refusing to leave the property in the 300 block of M Street.

At 5:17 p.m., reports of heavy smoke pouring out of a house in the 500 block of Pacific Avenue.

At 8:53 p.m., a resident in the 2100 block of Howland Hill Road reported returning home to find the inside ransacked and alcohol bottles everywhere.

At 9:52 p.m., a report of gunshots in the area of Homboldt and Hodge streets.

Saturday, May 2:

At 2:29 a.m., a report of squatters inside an RV in the 100 block of Olive Street then moved inside the home.

At 6:34 a.m., a report of a plume of smoke of unknown source behind Frank’s Heating in the 200 block of Michigan Avenue.

At 12:01 p.m., a report of a vehicle over the embankment with unknown injuries on U.S. Highway 101 in at milepost 22.7.

At 12:19 p.m., a report of a subject who picked up a wallet and cell phone from an accident on Radio Road and is refusing to return them to the owners without a reward.

At 12:47 p.m., a request received to remove a subject from a motor home in the 300 block of Indian Road who threatened to pull a knife on the reporting person.

At 12:52 p.m., a resident in the 1200 block of Northcrest Drive reported a subject followed her home, punched her in the face and his now circling the trailer park.

At 1:05 p.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Scenic Creek Drive reported someone broke into his vehicle and ripped out the steering column.

At 3:05 p.m., a report of a male subject walking down the road at Lauff and Del Norte streets with a loaded crossbow.

At 4:29 p.m., a female subject reported a male subject pulled her out of her vehicle at Pacific and Butte streets and drove off with her vehicle.

At 4:48 p.m., a report of an explosion and smoke seen at a shop in the 12500 block of Indian Road.

At 5:38 p.m., a report of two pit bulls running lose with a subject chasing them with a stick at Del Mar and Adams streets.

At 6:27 p.m. a report of a barefoot female walking down the middle of the road near the end of Old Mill Road trying to flag people down with what appears to be a juvenile laying on the ground behind a rock near her.

At 7:42 p.m., a resident in the 1600 block of Jefferson Avenue reported finding a juvenile runaway who had broken into one of the travel trailers on the property.

At 9:36 p.m., an officer was hailed in the 400 block of M Street by an employee reporting a subject just ran out of the store with stolen items.

Friday, May 1:

At 2:34 a.m., a resident in the 100 block of Salmon Avenue reported her car was stolen from in front of her home, then found the car, but its back window was broken out.

At 7:44 a.m., someone reported a male subject in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard began harassing her and yelling at her when she asked him to give her more space due to social distancing.

At 10:36 a.m., a resident in the 1600 block of 5th Street reported an illegal dumping when a subject defecated on his front lawn then left in a vehicle.

At 11:47 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of Olive Street reported a sewage leak was flooding into his front lawn.

At 12:38 p.m., a report of a single vehicle rollover accident, with one occupant and unknown injuries, on U.S. Highway 199 at milepost 4.

At 1:13 p.m., a report of a backyard fire at Harding and Douglas streets, with flames visible above the fence.

At 1:40 p.m., staff in the 1400 block of Parkway Avenue reported a subject was setting up a camp in the parking lot and was yelling at passing vehicles.

At 2:04 p.m., a report from the Kellogg Beach area in Fort Dick of a vessel in distress taking on water.

At 2:28 p.m., a resident in the 2400 block of Quinlan Avenue reported her wallet was stolen from her car.

At 3:04 p.m., a request received from the 300 block of M Street to remove a subject harassing customers and carrying a large stick with a knife at the end.

At 3:19 p.m., an officer was flagged in the 400 block of M Street by an employee reporting a subject just shoplifted at the store.

At 10:53 p.m., a report of a male subject hitting a female subject in the 1600 block of Northcrest Drive.

Thursday, April 30:

At 12:42 a.m. a male subject was assaulted at U.S. Highway 101 and Parkway Drive by unknown subjects but refused medical attention.

At 2:04 a.m., a trailer fire reported in the 200 block of Elk Valley Road.

At 8:21 a.m., a report of a traffic accident with no injuries in the 1200 block of Northcrest Drive but there was debris and leaking fluid from the vehicle on the roadway.

At 9:43 a.m., staff in the 400 block of U.S. Highway 101 requested the removal of an incoherent subject attempting to get into rooms and won’t leave.

11:11 a.m., staff in the 1100 block of 3rd Street reported they are following a subject that stole several items from the store.

At 11:25 a.m., a report of two subjects camping in a vehicle in the turnout of 9th and Pebble Beach for the last three days.

At 12 p.m., a shoplifter was detained in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard.

At 4:55 p.m. a report of a subject stealing beer in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 101.

At 5:41 p.m., a subject stole multiple packs of candy from a store in the 300 block of U.S. Highway 101.

At 6:30 p.m., a report of a female walking down the side of the road of Old Mill and Dayton streets, screaming and taking her clothes off.

At 9:43 p.m., a resident on Stoney Creek reported his wife heard a prowler’s footsteps on the property.

At 11:16 p.m., a resident in the 2400 block of Quinlan Avenue reported that her car was stolen, but did not wanted reported as stolen, rather she wanted her purse and laptop missing from the trunk.

Wednesday, April 29:

At 2:10 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of Hill Street reported hearing someone in the yard prowling around the vehicles.

At 4:59 a.m., a resident in the 800 block of Spruce Street reported hearing a prowler on his front porch.

At 8:58 a.m., a report of a reckless driver in the 99900 block of Howe Drive.

At 10:08 a.m., an employee in the 900 block of Sunset Circle reported catching a female trying to break into the office.

At 10:40 a.m., an urn with ashes was found on Harmony Lane.

At 12:28 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Cates Way reported that her roommate has been stealing and eating her food.

At 1:57 p.m. someone reported a subject pulled a knife on him at Harding and Oregon streets then drove away.

At 3:11 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Harding Street reported someone was trespassing in her backyard.

At 5:02 p.m., some juveniles in the 1000 block of Play Street reported finding a hypodermic needle and a bag near the tree out front.

At 6:37 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of Arnett Street reported a neighbor’s dog has been barking all the time for the last year.

At 9:16 p.m., an employee in the 400 block of M Street reported a subject just ran out with a small basket of items.

At 11:20 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Nadine Lane in Fort Dick reported hearing explosives going off in the area.
