Excerpts from the call logs of the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department:

Wednesday, Aug. 19:

  • At 12:04 a.m., medical staff in the 800 block of Wendell Street reported a subject came in with wounds from an assault.
  • At 3:39 a.m., a report of a male subject causing damage to rental cars in the 800 block of J Street.
  • At 4:26 a.m., a resident in the 5000 block of Kings Valley Road requested extra patrols due to subject trying to get into his mail box.
  • At 6:06 a.m., a report of a vehicle broken into sometime overnight in the 600 block of Highway 101.
  • At 7:05 a.m., a welfare request to check on a male subject at a bus stop on Front Street wearing hospital pants covered in blood.
  • At 8:44 a.m., a resident in the 500 block of Elk Valley Road reported he caught someone in a trailer on the property and has found a few items missing.
  • At 10:28 a.m., a resident in the 300 block of Olive Street reported an unknown male subject prowling around her neighbor’s house, checking doors and windows, as well as trying to get into vehicles.
  • At 11:01 a.m., a request to remove a transient male subject camping illegally on a property in the 1000 block of 4th Street.
  • At 11:25 a.m., a report of a male subject who broke into a vehicle in the 900 block of Front Street, stole some cigarettes and threatened to harm the owner.
  • At 3:01 p.m., a report of known female subject who threw a rick a vehicle in the 12500 block of Indian Road.
  • At 4:49 p.m., a resident in the 300 block of Skookum Lane reported his wife stole his gun safe.
  • At 5:05 p.m., a report of staff being assaulted in the 800 block of Washington Boulevard.
  • At 6:16 p.m., a report of shots heard in the area of 100 block of Alder Road.
  • At 9 p.m., a report of an illegal burn at Eldorado and Keller streets.
  • At 11:59 p.m., a male subject reported he picked up a female in the 100 block of Lassen Street in Fort Dick for sexual services, but she stole money from him and threatened him with a machete.
