Excerpts from the call logs of the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department:

Monday, Aug. 31:

At 3:38 a.m., a subject came into the lobby of the Crescent City Police Department to report he was assaulted.

At 5:06 a.m., a hotel guest in the 300 block of Highway 101 reported a known female subject took her car and may be headed to Oregon.

At 5:39 a.m., a report of broken windows and door open to a business in the 900 block of Highway 101.

At 6 a.m., a report of several transients sleeping in a building in the 700 block of 2nd Street.

At 7:46 a.m., someone reported finding a bunch of mail scattered on the ground at Parkway Drive and Sherwood Lane.

At 8:38 a.m., a report of a fire on a hillside in the 200 block of Highway 101.

At 9:53 a.m., someone reported their vehicle was broken into on Saturday on Highway 199 at river access turnout.

At 10:28 a.m., someone reported witnessing a transient male enter a vehicle in the 300 block of M Street and take several items.

At 10:56 a.m., a report of someone hearing what sounded like gun shot in the Lower Lake/Mud Hen Village Road area.

At 11:01 a.m., reports that over the weekend someone stole the batterie from heavy machines in the 1800 block of Elk Valley Road.

At 12:46 p.m., the manager of a business in the 200 block of I Street reported finding a broken window an unlocked door.

At 1:59 p.m., someone reported catching a transient male subject trying to break into a fellow employee’s vehicle in the 700 block of L Street.

At 2:40 p.m., reports of an elderly male driving 2 mph down Highway 101 near Northcrest Drive.

At 5:29 p.m., a female reported that a subject assaulted her and then was trying to run her over with a vehicle in the 1900 block of Morehead Road in Fort Dick.

At 5:48 p.m., a report of smoke from a possible fire in the area of the 1400 block of Highway 101.

At 8:04 p.m., a female subject reported being bitten by a dog in the 300 block of Leif Circle.

At 10:53 p.m., a report of a fire in the 2200 block of Harmony Lane.
