Police Blotter

The police blotter is a public record of incidents as reported by law-enforcement agencies. All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are innocent until proven guilty. The information printed is preliminary and subject to change.

Excerpts from the call logs of the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Department:

Monday, Nov. 2:

At 12:35 a.m., a report of a male and female who appear to be on drugs, knocking on doors in the 600 block of Highway 101.

At 1:53 a.m., a resident in the 1000 block of Butte Street reported hearing one gunshot from an address where a subject was highly intoxicated.

At 8:01 a.m., a report that someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Essex Street and stole several items.

At 9:44 a.m., a report of an unattended bonfire at Pacific and Pebble Beach drives.

At 10:59 a.m., a report of a subject pulling items from the bushes and putting them in his car at Elk Valley Road and Cooke Lane.

At 11:33 a.m., staff reported a subject used two counterfeit $20 bills yesterday at a gas station in the 1500 block of Northcrest Drive.

At 1:09 p.m., a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian, with minor injuries, at Highway 101 and Rowdy Creek Road in Smith River.

At 1:30 p.m., a report of a fire at Elk Creek and Highway 101.

At 1:40 p.m., staff reported a subject stole a pair of shoes from a store in the 900 block of Washington Boulevard.

At 3:25 p.m., a report of a fire on Cooper Hill Road.

At 3:50 p.m., a report of a male subject laying on the ground screaming for help in the 1300 block of Harrold Street.

At 3:51 p.m., staff reported a subject in the shop in the 300 block of Highway 101 who appears to be using a check that does not belong to him.

At 3:58 p.m., a resident in the 1700 block of Northcrest Drive reported that someone is trespassing on her property. At 4:17 p.m., the subject moved out into the street, yelling for her cats to go to him.

At 5:33 p.m., a report of an illegal burn in the 500 block of Taylor Street.

At 7:32 p.m., a report of a suspicious male walking around, going through people’s trash cans in the 200 block of Cooper Avenue.

At 8:54 p.m., a known female subject called 911 from the 600 block of Highway 101 complaining about everything.

At 8:57 p.m., a food stamp card was found in the 1100 block of Harrold Street.

At 9:29 p.m., a report of a house fire from the pellet stove in the 1400 block of Inyo Street.

At 10:02 p.m., a report of a house fire in the 400 blcok of Cooper Avenue.

At 11:58 p.m., a female subject stated she was assaulted in the 14000 block of Highway 101 in Smith River, but declined medical assistance.
