The Crescent City Jaycees’ 47th-annual 8th-Grade Girls Basketball tournament attracted approximately 400 middle school players last weekend.

Venues included Smith River Elementary School, and in Crescent City at Redwood Elementary School, Del Norte High School and the Foursquare Church.

Awards were presented following the championship game Saturday night. Freshwater Charter Middle School received the Sportsmanship Award. Other winners included:

Division A - Hoopa Elementary School (Individual Award to Ivy Lamebear)

Division B - Fieldbrook Elementary (Individual Award to Neyr-res Bartoo)

Division C - Trinidad Union (Individual Award to Ellla Eisner)
