The 6 p.m Report: COVID-19 in Del Norte and Curry counties
Our 6 p.m. report today is abbreviated because we've just published two related articles and we're trying to clarify some information about COVID-19 testing at Pelican Bay so we can appropriately update our percentage calculations.
Yesterday we reported that Del Norte County had new positive cases related to the employee testing at the prison.
Today we reported two new cases in Curry County that are apparently not related to the prison testing — but we don't yet have data from Curry County regarding how many prison employees who live in Curry County tested positive, although the public health administrator told us she's working with Del Norte County and the prison to confirm cases and do contact tracing.
In other news today, California now has three more counties on its "Watch List" — Kern, Butte, and Inyo — but until they are on the list for at least three days they are not subject to extra restrictions.
Check back Friday at 6 p.m. for a better round-up of information and data.
